TRUTH ABOVE ALL

Roman Zaretsky is a unlimited creator who lives in multiple worlds at once, in multiple moments at once. His two main artistic forces, two primary channels: sound + image.

Coming from an Eastern European country scarred by one of the most brutal dictatorships in the world, he finally found his true home in Seattle, WA. Throughout his life he has been a completely self-taught musician with multiple awards for his collaborative work as a guitar player, composer and producer and now working on his personal music project.

His strong love of photography came out of an emotional and creative burnout after years of working in music and facing hardships of current music industry and its brutality and lack of essence and meaning in music industry nowadays.

It was during those heavy moments of doubts and uncertainty about his music path that he needed to express his creativity in a way that was immediate and could provide visible results of that expression quickly. Just two years ago he bought a used camera and a lens and just started witnessing moments of life around him.

With his incredible sensitivity towards the beauty, the truth and the essence of creation he seems to capture the unseen, unnoticed core of every moment he witnesses with his eyes, he seems to feel nature, animals, people that he photographs as if they’ve already told him their deepest secrets.

His love for monochrome is a perfect match for his personality and his focus on what truly matters - core, truth, love, essence, dignity, honor and bravery.

His photographs mesmerize you with something more than just visual beauty, they draw you into the moment - onto the tree branch with a blue jay in Kings Canyon, onto that cliff with three soaring eagles in Zion, into that woman’s sorrow and relief while sitting in the sun with her dog, they teleport you onto the top of Seattle Needle high in the moody clouds. When you look at his work, you are there in that photograph.

Roman Zaretsky is truly an example of a bold, truthful, brave and meaningful creative that quietly brings out breathtaking beauty and complexity of human experience into music and photo art.
